西元前八千年的北非，夜里有个部族跳舞狂欢，庆祝打猎丰收在他们就寝后，强烈的暴风袭卷这整个村落，村人纷纷走避耀眼的闪电，只有一名年轻的男孩走向它，最后消失在光源里。一九二八年的埃及，数百名阿拉伯人在沙里挖掘，挖出六座写满古埃及象形文字的石碑，没有人知道它们的用途和来源。这时，又有人挖出一个巨大的环状物，称为「星门」。到了现代的洛夏矶，埃及学家丹它尔发现了「星门」的秘密，他与欧尼尔上校的部队，搭乘「星门」前往距地球数百万光年的奇异星球。
